"SMART" which stands for "Stimulating Maturity through Accelerated Readiness Training”.
SMART is a combination of physical and classroom activities. The curriculum stimulates high levels of pre-academic and early academic development among all children, from those at risk for failing due to receiving too little early stimulation to those fully prepared for academic learning.
The obstacle course includes floor mats, sight words, jumping activities, overhead ladders, balance beams and spinning and cross lateral activities. The activity stations, which take 4-5 minutes each, consist of activities designed to improve hand/eye coordination, distance acuity (focusing in the distance), fine motor skills, sequencing, left/right awareness and spatial relations.
Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade participate in SMART.
