                       Belief Statements

At Mt. View Elementary, we believe that:
-In order for students to become lifelong learners and be able to adapt to a changing society, schools should foster creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills.

-Children should be given opportunities to receive instruction in a variety of artistic, creative, and physical activitities.

-Students learn best when they are actively engaged in the learning process and have appropriate opportunities for success.

-Attendance is a necessary component for students' success.

-Each student is a unique individual deserving respect, fairness and understanding.

- Students are entitled to and benefit academically and socially in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.

-It is important to involve parents and the community in the education of students.

-The educational needs and interests of students should be the primary focus in our decision making.
